Role Overview
The Publisher Platform Support Engineer serves as the primary technical escalation point for complex publisher-side issues involving integrations, performance, and platform behavior.
This role requires deep technical expertise, advanced troubleshooting capabilities, and strong cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless delivery and top-tier performance of Taboola solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose application/website performance issues by reviewing logs, debugging code, and identifying root causes.
Lead high-severity investigations with full ownership and end-to-end resolution.
Provide R&D/Product/Business teams with clear reproduction steps, logs, and structured test cases.
Manage technical escalations such as cookie-sync discrepancies, implementation errors, crashes, and script conflicts.
Mentor Level 1 engineers; deliver training to improve team technical capability.
Identify recurring issues and collaborate with L3, Product, and R&D for scalable long-term fixes.
Develop internal tools, automation, and AI-driven workflows to improve operational efficiency.
Coordinate with business units to ensure smooth resolution of client-facing issues.
Requirements
2+ years hands-on experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js.
Advanced SQL skills, including design and optimization of complex queries.
Strong understanding of browser rendering internals, page load lifecycle, DOM, and performance optimization.
Expertise with Chrome DevTools (cookies/storage, heap analysis, performance metrics, waterfalls, console/network debugging).
Solid knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS and debugging tools (Charles Proxy, Proxyman, Postman).
Proven ability to create technical solutions, internal tools, and reports.
Analytical mindset with strong pattern recognition and root-cause analysis capability.
Clear communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work in fast-paced environments.
Self-motivated, collaborative, and flexible for rotational shifts/on-call.
Bonus Skills
Experience with website development and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with iframe issues and Google Ad Manager (GAM).
Basic React knowledge.
Understanding of Google Analytics and user-data insights.
Exposure to Java technologies.
