You will play a pivotal role in shaping high-level design decisions, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability of distributed systems, while enabling development teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Though this role is architecture-heavy, you will remain hands-on with Python-based technologies, setting standards through prototypes, reference implementations, and technical oversight.<br/><br/><b>Key Responsibilities : </b><br/><br/>- Define and own the end-to-end architecture for Python-based microservices and backend systems, ensuring alignment with Bhashini 2.0s overall technical strategy.<br/><br/>- Design scalable, maintainable, and secure system components leveraging Python (Flask/FastAPI), open-source frameworks, and modern cloud-native practices.<br/><br/>- Translate business and product requirements into architectural blueprints, technical specifications, and system-level designs.<br/><br/>- Evaluate and recommend technologies, frameworks, and patterns for building robust distributed systems, balancing trade-offs in scalability, performance, and cost.<br/><br/>- Collaborate with Product Owners, Engineering Leads, and other Architects to ensure consistency, integration, and interoperability across modules.<br/><br/>- Provide reference implementations, coding guidelines, and architectural guardrails to development teams, ensuring adherence to best practices.<br/><br/>- Conduct design reviews, system audits, and performance optimizations across services and applications.<br/><br/>- Drive technical excellence in CI/CD, observability, reliability engineering, and security practices.<br/><br/>- Mentor engineering leads and senior developers, fostering architectural thinking and technical maturity across teams.<br/><br/>- Stay updated on emerging Python ecosystem tools, backend architecture trends, and AI/ML-enabling technologies relevant to Bhashini 2.0.<br/><br/><b>Must Have : </b><br/><br/>- 12+ years of software development experience, with at least 3 years in a solution architect or senior technical design role.<br/><br/>- Good experience with AI based tools/coding assistants (Cursor, Copilot, etc) for development cycle.<br/><br/>- Deep expertise in Python, with strong proficiency in Flask/FastAPI and backend system design.<br/><br/>- Proven track record of architecting and delivering scalable microservices and RESTful APIs in production.<br/><br/>- Strong experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL stores (MongoDB, Redis, etc.).<br/><br/>- Hands-on expertise with event-driven architectures and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).<br/><br/>- Proficiency in containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) at scale.<br/><br/>- Solid understanding of distributed system design, caching strategies, security principles, and performance optimization.<br/><br/>- Familiarity with DevOps pipelines, CI/CD automation, and cloud-native deployment practices (AWS/GCP/Azure).<br/><br/>- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across teams.<br/><br/><b>Good to Have : </b><br/><br/>- Exposure to frontend technologies to assess full-stack architectural impacts.<br/><br/>- Experience with AI/ML systems integration, particularly in NLP or Speech technologies.<br/><br/>- Prior contributions to large-scale government, public digital infrastructure, or open-source projects.<br/><br/>- Experience working in highly agile environments with multiple cross-functional teams.<br/><br/>- Familiarity with DevOps pipelines, CI/CD automation, and cloud-native deployment practices (AWS/GCP/Azure).<br/><br/>- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across teams.</p><br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
