Your Role
As a Sr. or QA Automation Engineer, you’ll be responsible for ensuring high-quality outcomes throughout the software development lifecycle by designing, developing, and executing automated and manual tests.
This role offers opportunities to contribute to complex QA initiatives, mentor others, and drive continuous improvement in testing practices.
Key Responsibilities
Setup, configure, and maintain automation environments and frameworksDesign, develop, and maintain modular, extensible, and reusable test automation harnesses and scriptsDevelop efficient and accurate automated performance test scriptsParticipate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, and testing implicationsIdentify, report, and track product defects and recommend enhancementsWrite, revise, and verify test plans and procedures for defect identification and feature evaluationPerform functional, regression, and integrated testing on new or modified software programsBuild and maintain a comprehensive test automation library to ensure requirements and regression coverageCommunicate testing estimates and status, and proactively remove project roadblocksAnalyze test results and defects to assess application/system qualityTrack and report QA metrics and conduct internal audits to ensure process adherenceMentor junior team members and lead QA initiatives with minimal supervisionManage QA projects and ensure seamless delivery across teamsParticipate in rotational on-call support as neededWhat You’ll Work On

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experienceFor entry-level: Minimum 1 year of experience in automated script development and manual testingFor senior-level: Minimum 3+ years of professional experience in software testing and 2+ years of creating automation scripts from scratchStrong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and software quality assurance standardsExcellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skillsAbility to read and interpret business requirements and translate them into test specificationsStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teamsAbility to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlinesPreferred Skills
Experience with structured delivery processes and Agile development methodologiesHands-on experience with web-based, PC-based, and mobile applications built with Java, .NET, Web technologies, and LinuxFamiliarity with databases used for data storage and retrievalProficiency in Selenium or equivalent test automation toolsExperience with scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript) and tools like Node.jsKnowledge of web object identification techniques (e.g., XPath)Understanding of where and how test automation applies, including maintenance needsWhy Join Netsmart?
