Role Overview and Responsibilities
Dhruva Space is looking for an experienced RF Design Engineer – SDR Hardware to join our engineering team.
This role is ideal for a professional with strong expertise in SDR hardware design, including schematics, PCB layout, RF front-end circuitry, and board bring-up/debugging.
The candidate will play a critical role in developing baseband and RF front-end modules to enable reliable, high-performance SDR systems for advanced communication applications.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Design schematics and multi-layer PCB layouts for SDR baseband and RF boards.
Develop baseband hardware using Xilinx RFSoC platforms with high-speed ADCs/DACs or other advanced RF transceivers.
Design and integrate RF front-end circuits, including LNAs, PAs, filters, baluns, duplexers, and matching networks.
Apply best practices in signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI/EMC compliance for board design and conduct EMI/EMC testing.
Conduct board bring-up, debugging, and validation using advanced test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, VNAs, power meters).
Collaborate with FPGA/DSP teams for end-to-end system integration of baseband and RF modules.
Perform component selection, simulations, and design verification.
Interface with fabrication vendors to ensure manufacturability and DFM compliance.
Candidate Requirements:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
3+ years of experience in schematic capture and PCB layout for SDR and RF hardware.
Strong background in Zynq SoC-based designs and Xilinx RFSoC platforms with integrated high-speed ADC/DACs.
Proficiency in working with high-speed RF transceivers for SDR applications.
Solid expertise in RF front-end design (LNAs, PAs, filters, switches, duplexers, impedance matching).
Hands-on experience with PCB design tools (Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, OrCAD).
Knowledge of high-speed digital design (DDR3/DDR4, SERDES, JESD204B/C, LVDS, Gigabit Ethernet).
Proven experience in board bring-up, debugging, and hardware-level testing using advanced RF/mixed-signal equipment.
Familiarity with SDR concepts, modulation techniques, and tools such as GNU Radio, MATLAB/Simulink, and Vivado.
Additional experience in satellite communication SDRs, thermal/low-power design, ruggedized electronics, and DFx practices (DFM/DFT).
