                <p><p><b>Main Purpose Of Role :</b></p><p><br/></p><p>We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Database Support Manager / Lead to join our dynamic Global IT Operations team.
This critical role is responsible for leading a team of talented Database Administrators (DBAs) in providing 24/7 global support for our diverse and mission-critical database environments.</p><br/><br/><p>You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, performance, and availability of our databases, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of excellence within the team.</p><p><b><br/></b></p><p><b>Team Leadership & Management :</b></p><br/><p>- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of highly skilled Database Administrators (DBAs), fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.</p><br/><br/><p>- Manage team schedules, on-call rotations, and resource allocation to ensure 24/7 global coverage.</p><br/><br/><p>- Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support the professional growth of team members.</p><br/><br/><p>- Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding of new DBA talent.</p><br/><br/><p><b>Global Database Support & Operations :</b></p><br/><p>- Oversee the day-to-day operations and support of all production and non-production database environments across multiple regions and time zones.</p><br/><br/><p>- Ensure the proactive monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of database systems.</p><br/><br/><p>- Drive incident response, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for critical database issues, minimizing downtime and business impact.</p><br/><br/><p>- Implement and enforce best practices for database security, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, and high availability solutions.</p><br/><br/><p>- Manage database change control processes, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.</p><br/><br/><p><b>Strategy & Improvement :</b></p><br/><br/><p>- Develop and implement database strategies, roadmaps, and architectural improvements in collaboration with development and infrastructure teams.</p><br/><br/><p>- Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline database operations and enhance efficiency.</p><br/><br/><p>- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to database performance, scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.</p><br/><br/><p>- Stay abreast of emerging database technologies and trends, evaluating their potential impact and benefits.</p><br/><br/><p><b>Stakeholder Collaboration : </b></p><br/><br/><p>- Act as a primary point of contact for database-related escalations and provide expert guidance to internal teams and stakeholders.</p><br/><br/><p>- Collaborate effectively with development, infrastructure, security, and other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and support of applications.</p><br/><br/><p>- Communicate clearly and concisely with both technical and non-technical audiences regarding database status, issues, and  & Compliance :</b></p><br/><br/><p>- Ensure the creation and maintenance of comprehensive database documentation, including architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.</p><br/><br/><p>- Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements related to data management and security.</p><br/><br/><p><b>Person profile :</b></p><br/><br/><p><b>Experience : </b></p><br/><br/><p>- Extensive experience (8+ years) in database administration roles, with a strong focus on mission-critical production environments.</p><br/><br/><p>- Proven experience (3+ years) in a lead role, overseeing a team of Database Administrators.</p><br/><br/><p>- Proven experience with  & Skills :</b></p><br/><br/><p>- Displays the ability to troubleshoot performance issues within a MSSQL environment.</p><br/><br/><p>- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g. , PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation of database tasks.</p><br/><br/><p>- Solid understanding of ITIL principles and experience working within an IT service management framework (e.g. , ServiceNow).</p><br/><br/><p>- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills with a meticulous attention to detail.</p><br/><br/><p>- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities, with the capacity to motivate and inspire a team.</p><br/><br/><p>- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, global environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.</p><br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
