This role will directly support a major banking client, primarily focused on the FDIC Sweep Program using the Agiletics application and other related banking interfaces.
The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in COBOL development, financial systems, and the ability to operate both independently and within a collaborative consulting Responsibilities :</b></p><p><br/></p><p>- <b>Client-Facing Support:</b></p><br/></p><p>- Act as a trusted consultant, working directly with client personnel in the banking industry.<br/><br/></p><p>- Provide support for the FDIC Sweep Program implemented through the Agiletics platform.<br/><br/></p><p>- Assist with the integration and maintenance of peripheral banking systems and interfaces.<br/><br/></p><p>- <b>Mainframe Software Development:</b><br/><br/></p><p>- Analyze user requirements and design, develop, test, and implement COBOL programs and batch processes.<br/><br/></p><p>- Ensure high performance, reliability, and compliance with industry best practices.<br/><br/></p><p>- <b>Problem Resolution and Maintenance:</b><br/><br/></p><p>- Offer technical assistance to resolve software issues and system failures.<br/><br/></p><p>- Participate in root cause analysis and resolution of production problems.<br/><br/></p><p>- <b>Tool & Technology Utilization:</b><br/><br/></p><p>- Leverage a wide range of mainframe tools for development, debugging, testing, and deployment.<br/><br/></p><p>- Maintain proficiency with core technologies and stay current on new tools relevant to client environments.<br/><br/></p><p>- <b>Industry and Domain Expertise:</b><br/><br/></p><p>- Demonstrate a strong understanding of financial services and banking operations, particularly those related to regulatory compliance.<br/><br/></p><p>- Stay informed about industry trends and apply relevant insights to project Skills & Experience:</b></p><p><br/></p>- 810 years of professional experience in mainframe application development, particularly within banking or financial services.<br/><br/></p><p>- Proven hands-on experience with:<br/><br/></p><p>- COBOL, CICS, VSAM<br/><br/></p><p>- Strong analytical and debugging skills.<br/><br/></p><p>- Excellent communication skillsboth written and verbal.<br/><br/></p><p>- Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a client-facing Skills (Nice to Have) :</b></p><p><br/></p>- Experience with :<br/><br/></p><p>- Easytrieve, Zeke, Changeman, INSYNC, Dumpmaster, Tracemaster, DB2, MQ, Assembler, SQL<br/><br/></p><p>- SoapUI or other service testing tools<br/><br/></p><p>- Familiarity with financial compliance systems and regulatory programs, particularly the FDIC Sweep Program.<br/><br/></p><p>- Previous consulting or client engagement experience in banking IT :</b></p><p><br/></p>- Direct experience supporting or developing within the Agiletics application.<br/><br/></p><p>- Prior involvement in FDIC Sweep implementation or support.</p><br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
