The Opportunity
This is a pivotal role for an experienced data engineer who thrives on building transformative data products from the ground up.
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be a cornerstone of our data engineering team, taking significant  technical ownership  of our customer-facing, embedded data analytics products.
You will be instrumental in  designing and implementing complex data products , making critical  architectural decisions  and clearly  articulating their impact on our data platform .
We are looking for a hands-on technical leader who is passionate about building scalable, data-driven systems with deep expertise in AWS Databricks and mentoring other engineers to elevate the entire team.

What You'll Do
Build & Innovate:  Dedicate your time to developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality, scalable  ETL/ELT data pipelines  using  Python ,  PySpark , and  Databricks  on AWS.
You will lead the development of new data features and services across the full product lifecycle, from architectural design to deployment.
Architect & Own:  Take technical ownership of major components of our data platform architecture.
You will lead design discussions, ensuring our data systems are secure, scalable, and maintainable.
Your decisions will directly shape the future of our data capabilities.
Drive Data Excellence & Mentor:  Champion a culture of data excellence by implementing data quality checks, monitoring mechanisms, and robust testing principles.
You will play a key role in mentoring junior data engineers through constructive code reviews, technical guidance, and collaborative problem-solving, fostering their growth and enhancing the team's capabilities.
Implement Advanced Data Operations:  Create  CI/CD controlled data engineering deployments  using  Databricks Asset Bundles  and leverage  Databricks serverless compute  with cost optimization techniques to deliver performant data products.
Collaborate & Deliver:  Work within a fast-paced agile team, collaborating closely with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and fellow engineers to solve complex data challenges.
You will help ensure the quality, integrity, and security of data throughout the data lifecycle, implementing best practices in data governance.
What You'll Bring (Requirements)
4+ years  of professional data engineering experience, with a proven track record of building and launching data products and platforms.
Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional  (required).
Bachelor's degree  in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Mandatory, deep expertise in  Python  and  SQL  with experience in designing, developing, or maintaining production-grade data platform solutions on  Databricks AWS .
Proven expertise in Databricks  and hands-on experience with  Apache Spark .
Demonstrated ability to take  technical ownership  of data projects and features, from conception to delivery.
Strong background in  data architecture and design , with experience in building complex data products and making critical  design decisions .
Hands-on experience in  AWS Cloud Services  with solid understanding of networking rules, firewalls, DNS, IPv4, and VPCs in AWS.
Knowledge of  data governance and compliance standards  and cyber security fundamentals with working knowledge of enterprise data security controls.
Experience with  machine learning frameworks and tools .
Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.
Bonus Points For
Experience with  DSPy  and  MLFlow .
Databricks Generative AI Engineer  certification.
Hands-on experience with  Terraform .
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner  or higher.
