What you will do
As the Senior Android Engineer, by joining our team you'll make a meaningful impact on patient care.
In this pivotal role you will build the android mobile app that inferences deep learning models for disease classification.

Key Responsibilities
- Architect and build the Android version of the CurieDx app.
- Integrate on-device ML models (e.g. TensorFlow Lite) for real-time object detection.
- Implement efficient video capture and streaming from the camera.
- Lead end-to-end development of high-performance Android apps, setting architecture and coding standards across the stack.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to ship beautiful, scalable features that reach real users fast.
- Drive code quality, and champion clean architecture, testing, and release automation.
- Own the full lifecycle from prototype to Google Play launch and iterations.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on Android development experience with strong proficiency in Kotlin and Android SDK.
- Proven track record of shipping consumer-facing apps end-to-end, must have released at least 1 app to Google Play.
- Experience integrating on-device ML models (e.g., TensorFlow lite) for object detection.
- Hands-on experience building custom camera flows or working with CameraX/Camera2 APIs.
- Deep understanding of modern Android architecture patterns (e.g., MVVM), RESTful APIs, and offline capabilities.
- Experience with Android API 21+ support and version control systems (Git).
- Proficiency with testing frameworks (Espresso, JUnit, Mockito) and database technologies (Room, SQLite).
Bonus Experience
- Experience with Jetpack Compose, dependency injection (e.g., Hilt/Dagger), and modular codebases at scale.
- Familiarity with A/B testing tools (e.g., Mixpanel, Firebase)
- Familiarity with performance profiling, analytics integration (e.g., Firebase), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with image processing libraries (OpenCV) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) for model deployment
