<p><p><b>About the Role :<br/></b><br/>We are looking for a Senior Node.js Developer who excels in building scalable, resilient backend systems in a cloud-first, technology-agnostic environment.<br/><br/>The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who understands the nuances of system design beyond mere coding - someone who can evaluate technology based on long-term scalability, maintainability, and business alignment.<br/><br/>In this role, you will architect and lead the development of microservices and APIs that serve millions of users reliably and efficiently.<br/><br/>You will partner closely with product, design, and engineering teams to translate complex business requirements into high-performance technical solutions.<br/><br/>This position is best suited for an engineer who embraces modern cloud architectures, thrives on solving complex distributed systems challenges, and mentors teams towards engineering excellence.<br/><br/><b>Key Responsibilities :</b><br/><br/>- Design and implement highly scalable, fault-tolerant backend services using Node.js and microservices principles.<br/><br/>- Lead the architecture from concept through deployment.<br/><br/>- Continuously optimize services for low latency, high throughput, and cost efficiency.<br/><br/>- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to performance or reliability.<br/><br/>- Leverage AWS cloud-native services extensively, including serverless frameworks like Lambda, container orchestration using ECS/EKS, managed databases (DynamoDB, RDS), and event-driven architectures.<br/><br/>- Work hand-in-hand with Product Managers, UX Designers, and other Engineers to develop robust technical solutions aligned with business objectives.<br/><br/>- Critically assess new tools, frameworks, and architectural patterns.<br/><br/>- Introduce technologies where they add measurable business value without succumbing to hype.<br/><br/>- Advocate and enforce clean code, modular design, comprehensive test coverage, and maintainable APIs.<br/><br/>- Drive adoption of reusable components and design patterns.<br/><br/>- Lead design/code reviews, provide technical guidance, and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement among junior engineers.<br/><br/>- Articulate complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively to both technical peers and non-technical stakeholders.<br/><br/><b>Required Skills & Experience :</b><br/><br/>- 6+ years experience in backend engineering with deep proficiency in Node.js (3+ years at production scale).<br/><br/>- Strong skills in architecting distributed systems, asynchronous programming paradigms, data modeling, API design, and microservices.<br/><br/>- Extensive experience designing and operating cloud-native architectures on AWS.<br/><br/>- Proficiency with serverless computing, container orchestration (ECS/EKS), and managed cloud services.<br/><br/>- Solid knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, containerization (Docker), and automated deployments.<br/><br/>- Expertise in profiling, monitoring, and optimizing backend services for speed, throughput, fault tolerance, and cost.<br/><br/>- Comfortable working across multiple languages, frameworks, and stacks as required.<br/><br/>- Bonus points for TypeScript and frameworks like NestJS.<br/><br/>- Familiarity with Java/Spring Boot or other backend ecosystems is a plus, demonstrating ability to adapt and integrate across technologies.<br/><br/>- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to clearly convey ideas, designs, and trade-offs</p><br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
