<p><p><b>About the Role : </b></p><p><br/></p><p>We are seeking a highly skilled Python Backend Engineer with a strong background in building scalable backend systems, APIs, and cloud-native applications.
The ideal candidate is proficient in FastAPI, AWS cloud services, and database technologies, and has hands-on experience designing event-driven architectures using Amazon SQS.
Experience with AI/ML model integration or data-driven applications is a strong plus.<br/><br/>This is a remote position with working hours from 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM IST, ideal for professionals who prefer a late-start schedule and remote flexibility.<br/><br/><b>Key Responsibilities : </b></p><p><br/></p><p>- Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using FastAPI.<br/><br/>- Build and manage cloud-native applications using AWS services such as Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, CloudWatch, API Gateway, and IAM.<br/><br/>- Implement and optimize event-driven architectures with Amazon SQS and related messaging tools.<br/><br/>- Design and maintain PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.<br/><br/>- Collaborate with Data Science and AI/ML teams to integrate intelligent models into backend systems.<br/><br/>- Ensure secure API development using OAuth2, JWT, and other modern authentication/authorization methods.<br/><br/>- Follow best practices in writing clean, testable, and maintainable code.<br/><br/>- Participate in system architecture planning, performance tuning, and scalability improvements.<br/><br/>- Engage in code reviews, mentorship, and knowledge-sharing within the engineering team.<br/><br/><b>Required Skills & Experience : </b></p><p><br/></p><p>- 5+ years of professional experience in Python backend development.<br/><br/>- Strong expertise in FastAPI, or Flask/Django with willingness and experience transitioning to FastAPI.<br/><br/>- Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and services in the AWS ecosystem.<br/><br/>- Proven experience with Amazon SQS and other messaging/queueing tools.<br/><br/>- Proficiency in working with PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases.<br/><br/>- Experience integrating AI/ML models or working with data-heavy applications is a plus.<br/><br/>- Knowledge of secure API practices, including OAuth2, JWT, and role-based access controls.<br/><br/>- Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker, and container orchestration (Kubernetes/ECS).<br/><br/>- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a remote, cross-functional environment.</p><br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
