Role Title: Senior Software Engineer II

Job Summary:

Marriott International is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Revenue Management and Pricing Technology team.

In this role, you’ll design, develop, and deliver scalable, cloud-native applications that support critical business functions.

You’ll work on our user interfaces using technologies like JavaScript, ReactJS and Redux, and play a key role in modernizing our platform architecture.

This position is ideal for an experienced engineer with 6–8 years of hands-on development experience and a track record of leading small teams or projects, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, and driving technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain user interfaces using ReactJS, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.

- Utilize designs from Figma and implement them in ReactJS, ensuring pixel-perfect accuracy.

- Implement and maintain state management solutions using Redux or similar libraries.

- Optimize components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers.

- Conduct design and code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.

- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver high-quality features.

- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to team growth

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

- 6–8 years of professional software development experience, including: - Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including ES6+ syntax and features.

- 4+ years of experience with ReactJS, including the development of complex features, common components, component composition and scalable applications.

- Proficiency in state management libraries such as Redux, MobX, or Context API.

- Experience with styled-components or other CSS-in-JS libraries for creating dynamic and responsive user interfaces.

- Solid understanding of front-end build tools and modern web development workflows (e.g., Webpack, Babel, npm/yarn).

- Experience with front-end testing libraries such as React Testing Library or Jest - Familiarity with the concept of memoization for React - Familiarity with RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming using Promises or async/await.

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug and optimize code for performance.

- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, user-friendly interfaces.

- Demonstrated experience leading technical projects or initiatives, including: - Defining technical direction and architecture for small teams.

- Coordinating cross-functional collaboration and delivery.

- Driving resolution of complex technical challenges.

- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with API design and optimization for UI rendering and performance - Experience with converting legacy JavaScript framework code to ReactJS - Background in travel, hospitality, or pricing systems.

- Experience contributing to architectural decisions or solution design.

- Agile/Scrum team experience.

Leadership & Collaboration:

- Technical Mentorship – Guide and support junior engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and hands-on collaboration.

- Strategic Thinking – Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions and influence architectural direction.
