<p></p><p><b>Description :</b><br/><br/><b>Job Title :</b> Senior System Administrator<br/><br/><b>Location :</b> Chandigarh, India (On-site)<br/><br/><b>Experience Required :</b> 3 to 6 Years<br/><br/><b>Position Type :</b> Full-Time<br/><br/><b>Position Overview :</b><br/><br/>Cogniter Technologies is seeking an experienced Senior System Administrator to join our IT infrastructure team.<br/><br/>The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, security, and optimization of the companys servers, systems, and network infrastructure.<br/><br/>This is a critical role that ensures the seamless operation of IT services in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.<br/><br/>You will play a key part in maintaining business continuity by proactively managing IT resources and responding promptly to technical challenges.<br/><br/><b>Key Responsibilities :</b><br/><br/>- Configure, maintain, and optimize physical and virtual servers, systems, and IT hardware to ensure high availability and reliability.<br/><br/>- Manage and support network infrastructure components including LAN, WAN, VPNs, firewalls, and switches.<br/><br/>- Provide timely technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues to minimize operational downtime.<br/><br/>- Monitor system and network performance using industry-standard monitoring tools; proactively identify and address potential issues.<br/><br/>- Implement, manage, and enforce IT security policies, including firewall configurations, antivirus solutions, access controls, and vulnerability management.<br/><br/>- Ensure data integrity and availability through scheduled backups, system snapshots, and comprehensive disaster recovery planning.<br/><br/>- Install, configure, patch, and update applications, operating systems, and system software across the infrastructure.<br/><br/>- Troubleshoot complex technical problems across servers, networks, and user endpoints with a focus on swift resolution.<br/><br/>- Maintain detailed and up-to-date documentation on system configurations, network diagrams, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.<br/><br/>- Collaborate closely with the IT team during system upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvement projects.<br/><br/>- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in system administration and IT security.<br/><br/><b>Qualifications :</b><br/><br/><b>Experience :</b> 3 to 6 years of proven professional experience in system administration, IT infrastructure management, or IT support roles.<br/><br/><b>Technical Skills :</b><br/><br/>- Strong proficiency with Windows Server (2012, 2016, 2019) and/or Linux system administration (CentOS, Ubuntu, RedHat).<br/><br/>- Deep understanding of networking protocols and services such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and VLANs.<br/><br/>- Hands-on experience managing Active Directory, Group Policy, and user account lifecycle management.<br/><br/>- Skilled in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex hardware, software, and network issues.<br/><br/>- Familiarity with backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Veritas) and disaster recovery procedures.<br/><br/>- Knowledge of IT security frameworks and best practices, including firewalls, endpoint security, and compliance standards.<br/><br/><b>Soft Skills :</b><br/><br/>- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.<br/><br/>- Excellent communication skills to interact with technical teams and non-technical users effectively.<br/><br/>- Ability to document processes clearly and maintain thorough operational records.<br/><br/><b>Preferred Certifications :</b><br/><br/>- Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)<br/><br/>- CompTIA Network+ or Security+<br/><br/>- Linux certifications such as RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator) or equivalent<br/><br/><b>Personal Attributes :</b><br/><br/>- Proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high-quality IT operations.<br/><br/>- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively.<br/><br/>- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team environment.<br/><br/>- Eagerness to learn and adapt to evolving technologies and IT practices.<br/><br/><b>Why Join Cogniter Technologies ?
