Share Point Engineer
Location: Chennai, Bangalore, Noida
Experience: 9+ Years of Experience.
Overview of Role / Role Purpose
A Share Point engineer is responsible for planning, executing, and managing the migration of data, applications, and workflows from legacy systems to Share Point.

Work closely with business stakeholders and IT teams to assess the existing infrastructure, identify migration requirements, and develop a migration strategy.

The engineer is responsible for ensuring a smooth and seamless transition of data and applications to Share Point, while minimizing downtime and ensuring data integrity.

Provide technical support and troubleshooting during the migration process and ensure that all migrated content is accessible and functional in the new Share Point environment.

Designing and implementing Share Point sites, libraries, lists, and workflows to meet business needs.

Configuring and customizing Share Point features and functionalities, such as document management, collaboration, search, and security.

Developing and deploying custom Share Point solutions using tools like Share Point Designer, Visual Studio, and Power Shell.

Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Share Point infrastructure, performance, and user access.

A Share Point engineer should have a strong understanding of Share Point architecture, migration tools, and best practices to successfully complete the migration process.
Core Responsibilities
- Designing and developing Share Point solutions: This involves creating custom Share Point sites, web parts, workflows, and other components to meet the organization's needs.
- Customizing Share Point sites: Share Point developers are responsible for customizing the look and feel of Share Point sites, including branding, themes, and layouts.
- Configuring and managing Share Point environments: This includes setting up and configuring Share Point servers, databases, and other infrastructure components.

Share Point developers may also be responsible for managing user permissions and security settings.
- Integrating Share Point with other systems: Share Point developers often need to integrate Share Point with other systems and applications, such as CRM systems, document management systems, or third-party tools.

This may involve developing custom connectors or using Share Point's built-in integration capabilities.
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues: Share Point developers are responsible for identifying and resolving any issues or bugs in Share Point solutions.

This may involve debugging code, analyzing logs, or working with other team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Collaborating with stakeholders: Share Point developers often work closely with business stakeholders, project managers, and other team members to gather requirements, understand business needs, and deliver Share Point solutions that meet those requirements.
- Documenting and maintaining Share Point solutions: Share Point developers are responsible for documenting their work, including technical specifications, code documentation, and user guides.

They may also be responsible for maintaining and updating Share Point solutions as needed.
- Keeping up with Share Point updates and best practices: Share Point developers need to stay up to date with the latest Share Point updates, features, and best practices.

This may involve attending training sessions, reading documentation, or participating in online communities and forums.
Key Skills and Experience
- Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills
- Share Point Development: Proficiency in developing and customizing Share Point solutions using tools like Share Point Designer, Visual Studio, and Power Shell.

Experience in creating and configuring Share Point sites, libraries, lists, workflows, and web parts.
- Share Point Administration: Strong knowledge of Share Point administration, including managing user permissions, configuring security settings, and monitoring and optimizing Share Point performance.
- Share Point Migration: Experience in planning and executing Share Point migrations, including assessing existing infrastructure, developing migration strategies, and ensuring data integrity and functionality post-migration.
- Share Point Architecture: Understanding of Share Point architecture and its components, including web applications, site collections, content databases, and service applications.
- Collaboration and Document Management: Familiarity with Share Point's collaboration and document management features, such as versioning, metadata, content types, and document libraries.
- Problem-solving and Troubleshooting: Ability to identify and resolve technical issues related to Share Point infrastructure, performance, and user access.

Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and debug Share Point solutions.
- Communication and Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with business stakeholders, gather requirements, and translate them into technical solutions.

Ability to provide technical guidance and support to end-users, including training and documentation.
- Knowledge of Related Technologies: Familiarity with related technologies such as Microsoft Office 365, Azure, SQL Server, Active Directory, and Power Shell scripting.
- Continuous Learning: Willingness to stay updated with the latest Share Point trends, updates, and best practices.

Ability to adapt to new technologies and tools in the Share Point ecosystem.
- Project Management: Experience in managing Share Point projects, including planning, prioritizing tasks, and meeting project deadlines.

Ability to work in a team and coordinate with other IT teams for seamless integration of Share Point with other systems.
Education / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
