<p><p><b>Description :</b></p><p><p><b><br/></b></p>Team Leadership & Project Management : </p><p><br/></p><p>- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 10+ database professionals to deliver high-quality, timely, and efficient database solutions.</p><p><br/>- Oversee end-to-end database development, maintenance, and performance improvement projects.<br/><br/>- Allocate resources, define project timelines, and ensure adherence to SLAs and quality standards.<br/><br/>- Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and performance feedback to team members.<br/><br/>- Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, testers, and infrastructure teams to align database solutions with business goals.<br/><br/><b>Database Design & Development : </b><br/><br/>- Design and implement logical and physical data models ensuring data integrity, normalization, and scalability.<br/><br/>- Develop, enhance, and maintain complex SQL and PL/SQL scripts, stored procedures, triggers, and packages for business applications.<br/><br/>- Perform data transformation and migration activities for system enhancements and new product rollouts.<br/><br/>- Ensure data consistency and integrity across multiple environments (development, testing, production).<br/><br/><b>Performance Tuning & Optimization : </b><br/><br/>- Conduct query optimization and performance tuning using advanced diagnostic tools such as Explain Plan, SQL Trace, TKPROF, AWR, and ADDM reports.<br/><br/>- Analyze and improve database performance, indexing strategies, and partitioning mechanisms.<br/><br/>- Identify and resolve slow-running queries, locking issues, and resource bottlenecks.<br/><br/>- Implement database monitoring and proactive maintenance practices to minimize downtime.<br/><br/><b>Requirement Analysis & Stakeholder Management : </b><br/><br/>- Participate in requirement gathering, impact analysis, and technical design discussions with business and IT stakeholders.<br/><br/>- Translate functional requirements into scalable and optimized technical database solutions.<br/><br/>- Provide technical feasibility studies and effort estimations for new projects and enhancements.<br/><br/>- Collaborate with reporting teams to support MIS reporting and analytics needs.<br/><br/><b>Documentation & Compliance : </b><br/><br/>- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including database design documents, ER diagrams, data flow diagrams, and process logic.<br/><br/>- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, data governance, and security standards.<br/><br/>- Support audits, data validation, and DR (Disaster Recovery) procedures.<br/><br/>- Promote best practices for RDBMS concepts, indexing, partitioning, and normalization.<br/><br/><b>Skills & Competencies Required : </b><br/><br/>- Strong expertise in SQL and PL/SQL programming (Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL preferred).<br/><br/>- Proven experience in database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.<br/><br/>- Deep understanding of RDBMS concepts, normalization, indexing, partitioning, and data modeling.<br/><br/>- Hands-on experience with Explain Plan, TKPROF, AWR, and SQL Trace analysis.<br/><br/>- Proficiency in ETL processes, data transformation, and data migration methodologies.<br/><br/>- Familiarity with MIS reporting and life insurance / BFSI domain is highly desirable.<br/><br/>- Experience with database security, backup, and recovery mechanisms.<br/><br/>- Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux shell scripting for database operations is a plus.<br/><br/>- Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.<br/><br/>- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities.<br/><br/><b>Qualifications : </b><br/><br/>- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.<br/><br/>- 12-14 years of experience in database development and management, with at least 35 years in a team lead or supervisory role.<br/><br/>- Relevant certifications in Oracle / Microsoft SQL / PostgreSQL / Data Management are preferred.<br/><br/><b>Preferred Tools & Technologies : </b><br/><br/>- Databases : Oracle 12c/19c, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server<br/><br/>- Performance Tools : AWR, TKPROF, SQL Developer, TOAD, OEM<br/><br/>- Scripting : PL/SQL, Shell scripting<br/><br/>- ETL / Reporting : Informatica, Power BI, or similar tools<br/><br/>- Version Control & CI/CD : Git, Jenkins<br/></p><br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
