We are looking for an experienced Snowflake and Azure Administrator to join our dynamic team and play a key role in scaling and securing our cloud data infrastructure.
About the Role
We’re looking for a skilled Snowflake & Azure Administrator with 6-8 years’ experience to join our remote team and take ownership of our client’s cloud data infrastructure.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to make a significant impact in a high-growth, innovation-driven environment.
You’ll ensure our data platforms are secure, efficient, and highly available , while driving best practices in performance monitoring, access control, and cost optimization.
Location
- Maharashtra, Gujarat or Rajasthan in India serving US clients with some reasonable time overlap.
Key Responsibilities:
Security & Governance
- Establish, maintain, and enhance security processes, automation workflows, and periodic audit protocols.
- Define and enforce policies for encryption, key/password management, access control, data masking, retention, and data purging.
- Develop and maintain granular row-level and column-level security frameworks within Snowflake (RBAC, dynamic masking, etc.).
- Oversee network-level security configurations — IP whitelisting, VNet-to-VNet connectivity, secure data sharing, private endpoints, etc.
Performance & Cost Monitoring
- Continuously monitor Snowflake and Azure environments for performance, storage growth, and cost usage metrics.
- Analyze and report on which business domains or workloads are consuming the most Snowflake credits; recommend optimization and cost-control measures.
Access Management & Compliance Reporting
- Manage end-to-end access provisioning and deprovisioning (users, roles, groups) in Snowflake and Azure.
- Generate regular compliance, audit, and usage reports (e.g., access logs, privilege usage, role changes).
Automation, Scripting & Infrastructure as Code
- Implement automation for routine administration tasks (warehouse scaling/suspension, resource cleanup, provisioning) using Python, scripting, or IaC tools.
- Integrate and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., via Azure DevOps) for infrastructure, configuration, and security deployments.
Cross-Platform Integration & Collaboration
- Collaborate with Data Engineering, Analytics, and Security teams to ensure alignment of data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and security posture.
- Support data orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow, Astronomer, Control-M) by enabling secure connectivity, role management, and monitoring hooks.
Documentation & Process Governance
- Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation of system architecture, security procedures, role hierarchies, and administrative workflows.
- Establish and enforce best practices, processes, and standard operating procedures for administration, audit, and incident response.
Technology Stack & Skills
- Snowflake Administration: Deep understanding of Snowflake configuration, security, and cost management.
- Azure Cloud: Expertise in Azure setup, networking, and infrastructure management.
- CI/CD & Automation: Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- DBT: Good working knowledge of DBT for transformation and data modeling.
- SQL: Advanced proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
- Python: Excellent coding and automation skills using Python.
- Orchestration Tools: Experience with Airflow , Astronomer , Control-M , or any modern workflow orchestration tool.
- Good to Have: Exposure to Microsoft Fabric and Databricks .
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology , or a related discipline.
- 6–8 years of experience in IT Infrastructure with strong exposure to Snowflake and Azure administration .
- Certifications such as SnowPro Core / Advanced or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator (AZ-104) are preferred.
- Strong analytical mindset with excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a startup environment that values speed, ownership, and innovation.
