<p><p>We are looking for a highly experienced and strategic Snowflake Principal Architect to lead end-to-end solutioning, architecture, and implementation of data platforms using the Snowflake ecosystem.<br/><br/>This is a senior-level role that blends deep technical expertise with strong consultative and client-facing skills.<br/><br/>The ideal candidate will act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Snowflake, helping clients design, implement, and optimize data solutions for both batch and streaming workloads.<br/><br/>As a Principal Architect, you will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and solution architects to build scalable, high-performance, and cost-effective data warehousing solutions in cloud environments.
You will also provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior architects and engineers.</p><br/><p><b>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :</b></p><br/><p>- Lead the architecture and design of scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms using Snowflake.<br/><br/>- Serve as a trusted advisor and SME for clients in designing end-to-end solutions involving Snowflake and related technologies such as dbt, Fivetran, Airflow, Matillion, Kafka, etc.<br/><br/>- Provide consulting on cloud data strategy, data integration, migration, and modernization initiatives.<br/><br/>- Evaluate and recommend best-fit architectural patterns (e.g., ELT/ETL, data mesh, data lakehouse).<br/><br/>- Architect and oversee the development of ETL/ELT pipelines using Snowflake in combination with tools like dbt, Fivetran, Talend, Informatica, or custom scripts.<br/><br/>- Enable real-time and batch data processing by integrating with streaming tools such as Kafka, Apache Spark, etc.<br/><br/>- Work with cross-functional teams to design pipelines that ensure data integrity, consistency, and security.<br/><br/>- Design and implement data models (star/snowflake schemas, data vaults, etc.) and data warehouses to support business analytics and operational needs.<br/><br/>- Define and enforce data governance, data cataloging, and metadata management practices.<br/><br/>- Guide and mentor engineering teams on Snowflake development best practices, query optimization, and cost management.<br/><br/>- Drive proof-of-concept initiatives and create reusable solution accelerators.<br/><br/>- Review code, pipelines, and architecture artifacts to ensure alignment with standards.<br/><br/>- Create detailed architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams, and technical documentation.<br/><br/>- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders, including executives and clients.<br/><br/>- Participate in RFPs, proposals, and technical pre-sales activities when needed.</p><br/><p><b>MANDATORY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS :</b></p><br/><p>- 10+ years of overall experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or related fields.<br/><br/>- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake, including :<br/><ul><li>Snowflake architecture design</li><li>Performance tuning & optimization</li><li>Security, access control, and RBAC</li><li>Zero-copy cloning, time travel, data sharing features</li></ul>- Experience with dbt, Fivetran, or similar tools.<br/><br/>- Proven expertise in Data Warehousing, Data Architecture, and Data Modeling.<br/><br/>- Deep understanding of cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure and how Snowflake integrates within these environments.<br/><br/>- Strong SQL expertise and experience with Python, Shell scripting, or other automation tools.<br/><br/>- Hands-on experience with streaming tools such as Kafka, Kinesis, Spark Streaming is a plus.<br/><br/>- Prior experience in consulting or client-facing solutioning roles is mandatory</p><br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
