**Job Description**
Principal Member of Technical Staff (Software Developer 4) - Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Platform - Commercial Systems
The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team gives you the chance to build and operate massive-scale, integrated cloud services in a broadly distributed, multi-tenant environment.
We’re committed to delivering best-in-class cloud products for customers tackling some of the world’s toughest challenges.
If you’re a hands-on engineer who loves solving hard problems in highly available, distributed systems and virtualized infrastructure, you’ll have outsized technical and business impact here—designing and building innovative systems that power mission-critical applications.
The OCI Platform – Commercial Systems organization owns services spanning Customer Sign-up, Subscription & Tenancy Management, Metering, Pricing, Cost Management, and integrations with Billing/Contract Management.
We also provide foundational platform services to set up and configure accounts, organize resources for efficiency, and control resource consumption across large-scale loud implementations.
Our Principal Engineers operate autonomously and set technical direction for the broader org.
You have experience developing and running high-scale services, and you know how to make cloud-scale systems resilient.
You balance speed and quality through iterative improvements, champion operational excellence, and foster a proactive, ownership-driven culture.
You use data to recommend and justify major changes to new and existing products, building consensus across teams.
We’re seeking a Principal Engineer with deep cloud experience and hands-on design expertise in large-scale, distributed systems.
If you’ve built and operated services in cloud environments and are ready to lead at scale, we’d love to meet you.
