This team is deployed to solve some of our most complex and challenging projects and will deliver innovative technical solutions.
We have an opportunity to revolutionize on-line shopping and set new standards for accessing the highest quality organic and natural groceries on-online.
As the SDM, you will be a key member of tech leadership and will need to drive forward the technology across Amazon to create a best in class online grocery shopping experience.
We are looking for a SDM with strong business and technical skills, great communication abilities, and a passion to use data and technologies to help Whole Foods Market, Amazon Fresh, Amazon Go, and Grocery online fulfillment.

As a SDM, you will help tackle a diverse landscape of challenges.
We are an early-stage initiative, and you will play an active role in translating business requirements into concrete timelines and prototyping concepts in partnership with other Amazon teams, technology leaders within the team and across the business.

You'll share your experience and technical acumen in order to drive technology decisions across our organization.

Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
