<p><p><b>Job Description : </b> Software Quality Engineer ETL & Azure Data Platforms.<br/><br/><b>Experience Required : </b> 5+ years.<br/><br/><b>Location : </b> Bangalore.<br/><br/><b>Role Summary : </b><br/><br/></p><p>We are seeking an experienced Software Quality Engineer / ETL Testing Specialist to work closely with business and delivery teams to execute test strategies and ensure high-quality data solutions.<br/><br/></p><p>The role focuses on ETL testing, data completeness, data quality, and cloud-based data platforms including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks, and Azure SQL Database.<br/><br/></p><p>The candidate will ensure data integrity, validate transformations, and support continuous integration and deployment in Agile/DevOps environments.<br/><br/><b>Key Responsibilities : </b><br/><br/></p><p>- Define and implement the test strategy and approach for ETL, data platforms, and reporting solutions.<br/><br/></p><p>- Collaborate with Scrum teams, BAs, developers, and offshore/onshore resources to clarify requirements, ensure testability, and design test cases.<br/><br/></p><p>- Identify test cases from Acceptance Criteria for User Stories and participate in design reviews.<br/><br/></p><p>- Execute testing activities including test case/script writing, data loads, data comparison, and defect tracking.<br/><br/></p><p>- Monitor and track testing schedules, task assignments, and progress.<br/><br/></p><p>- Review test cases/scripts for other team members and provide guidance for test script development.<br/><br/></p><p>- Analyze formal test results to identify and report defects, bugs, errors, and configuration issues in TFS/Azure DevOps.<br/><br/></p><p>- Prepare testing metrics, reports, and closure documentation.<br/><br/></p><p>- Recommend process improvements to enhance testing efficiency and quality.<br/><br/></p><p>- Perform integration, regression, and system testing.<br/><br/></p><p>- Provision and set up data platform technologies and test environments in the cloud.<br/><br/><b>Required Skills & Experience : </b><br/><br/></p><p>- 7+ years hands-on experience with SQL Server and/or Oracle.<br/><br/></p><p>- Strong ETL testing experience, including Data Completeness, Data Quality, and data feed validation.<br/><br/></p><p>- Exposure to Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks, and Azure SQL Database.<br/><br/></p><p>- Strong understanding of Data Warehousing concepts and Data Modelling.<br/><br/></p><p>- Proficient in SQL and Spark SQL, with experience in Stored Procedures, Functions, Tables, Cursors, Hash tables, and handling large datasets.<br/><br/></p><p>- Expertise in Joins, Subqueries, CTEs, and complex query writing.<br/><br/></p><p>- Experience in database testing, data comparison, and data transformation scripting.<br/><br/></p><p>- Testing experience on reports, BO Universe, and dashboards.<br/><br/></p><p>- Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, data streams, and file stores.<br/><br/></p><p>- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices is an advantage.<br/><br/></p><p>- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.<br/><br/><b>Educational Qualifications : </b><br/><br/></p><p>- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.<br/><br/></p><p>- At least 7 years of proven experience in testing/development roles with a strong track record of performance.</p><br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
