<p><p><b>Roles and Responsibilities :</b><br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Manage SQL development tasks and ensure timely delivery of project milestones, coordinating with onshore and offshore teams.<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading.<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Perform data validation, cleansing, and quality checks to ensure data accuracy and integrity.<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement optimization techniques such as indexing and query tuning.<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Schedule and oversee regular backup, restore operations, and support end-user connectivity and access issues.<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Assist in migration activities involving SQL databases and SAS datasets, ensuring seamless transitions and data integrity.<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for SQL scripts, workflows, and standard operating procedures.<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Collaborate closely with development, testing, and business teams to translate requirements into effective database solutions.<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Communicate project status, technical concepts, and challenges clearly with clients and stakeholders, including preparing presentation materials.<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Mentor junior team members, foster knowledge sharing, and demonstrate ownership and proactive problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to client expectation<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Communications, including deck writing<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Coordination of all sub-team efforts; Creation of project plan, define milestones, timelines, review plan with the team<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Delivery of output<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Facilitation and gathering of client feedback on problem structuring<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Understand and define business problems, get all background information and collect relevant data points<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Create solution hypothesis and get client buy in, discuss and align on end objective, staffing need, timelines and budget<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Effective management of frequency of feedback loop with offshore resources<br/><br/><b>Technical skills :</b><br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Experience SAS 9.4 (base and advance)<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Experience SAS Viya 3.3,3.5 and 4 (base and advance)<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Experience in migration from SAS EG & SAS Viya:<br/><br/></p><p>- Expertise in converting .EGP file to .Flow in Viya<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Experienced in scheduling regular backups/restore strategies.<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Experienced in reading SAS logs to find out root cause issues.<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Experienced in preparing documentation of Installation and standard operating procedures<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Scheduling the jobs and monitoring for day-to-day activities, escalating problems to the tech support if any issues arise.<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Support end-users with access and connectivity issues.<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Establish a formal, regularly scheduled backup process.<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Working with Development and Testing teams to prioritize and handle issues to resolve quickly.<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into SAS datasets.<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Perform data quality checks and implement data cleansing and validation procedures.<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Optimize data processing and storage for efficient performance.<br/><br/><b>Soft skills :</b><br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Strong work ethic and desire to product quality results<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Consistently and proactively communicates (verbally/written) to stakeholders Continuous Improvement mindset and approach to work product<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Ability to take complex subjects and simplify it to less technical individuals<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Provides clear documentation of processes, workflows, recommendations, etc.<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- High level of critical thinking capabilities<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Organized and has the ability to manage work effectively, escalating issues as appropriate<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Takes initiative & is a self-starter<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Displays ownership of their work (quality, timeliness)<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Seeks to become an expert in their field and shares their expertise through recommendations, proactive communications/actions and peer sharing/coaching where relevant<br/><br/><b>Candidate Profile :</b><br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Bachelors/Master's degree in economics, mathematics, computer science/engineering, operations research or related analytics areas; candidates with BA/BS degrees in the same fields from the top tier academic institutions are also welcome to apply<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- 4+ years experience, preferably in insurance analytics<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Experience in working in dual shore engagement is preferred<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Must have experience in managing clients directly<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Superior analytical and problem solving skills<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Demonstrated leadership ability and willingness to take initiative<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Strong record of achievement, solid analytical ability, and an entrepreneurial hands-on approach to work<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Able to work in fast pace continuously evolving environment and ready to take up uphill challenges<br/><br/></p><p><br/>- Is able to understand cross cultural differences and can work with clients across the globe<br/><br/></p><br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
