                         JOB DESCRIPTION  
DEPARTMENT : R&D Electronics 
POSITION : Senior Engineer – Advanced Battery Testing (Product Validation Lab) 
JOB STATUS : Full time 
LOCATION : Kochi, HO 
Responsibilities:  
• Develop and execute Design Verification Plans & Reports (DVP&R) for advanced chemistry battery packs.
• Conduct pack-level performance validation using pack testers, inverters, solar inverters, 
solar charge controllers, and chargers.
• Verify application compatibility across various power electronics systems and operational 
modes.
• Perform safety-critical tests, including nail penetration, thermal runaway simulation, 
overcharge/over-discharge, and short-circuit testing.
• Conduct environmental and mechanical robustness tests (thermal cycling, vibration, 
humidity, dust ingress).
• Perform accelerated life testing (HALT, endurance runs) to assess pack reliability.
• Execute BMS functional verification for pack-level applications and ensure compliance 
with safety cut-offs.
• Support limited cell-level characterization and BMS testing when required.
• Operate and maintain DAQs, oscilloscopes, thermal chambers, environmental chambers, 
and pack test rigs.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for pack-level failures and recommend design or 
process improvements.
• Analyse test data to support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and design optimization.
• Prepare detailed technical reports with test results, deviations, conclusions, and 
recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with relevant IEC, BIS, UN38.3, and other applicable standards.
Communication:  
Strong verbal and written skills for creating clear test plans, procedures, and reports.
Ability to present validation findings to R&D, Operations, and Certification stakeholders 
effectively.

• Expertise in battery pack testing methodologies for advanced chemistries.
• Proficiency in safety and environmental testing for battery packs.
• Understanding of battery integration with inverters, solar systems, and chargers.
• Hands-on experience with pack testers, DAQs, and environmental testing equipment.

Professional Skills Required:  
• Deep understanding of lithium-ion, sodium-ion, and other advanced battery chemistries.
• Knowledge of BMS functionality, pack assembly, and safety systems.
• Skilled in operating oscilloscopes, power analysers, thermal chambers, vibration tables, 
and environmental test rigs.
• Ability to execute both manual and automated testing workflows.
• Proficiency in MS Office for data analysis, reporting, and documentation.
Desirable:  
• Experience in UN38.3, IEC 62133, and BIS safety certification testing.
• Knowledge of EMI/EMC testing for battery systems.
• Exposure to statistical reliability tools (Weibull, Arrhenius).
Educational Qualifications & Experience:  
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (or related discipline).
5–10 years of hands-on experience in battery pack testing and validation in a product 
design validation environment.
Industry Preferred:  
Battery system manufacturers, energy storage system developers, inverter/UPS/solar 
product manufacturers.
