As a Sr. Technical Lead, Software Engineering would deliver value to customers through implementation, technical configurations, and providing technical recommendations and solutions to business problems.
They shape and improve the experience of key Vertafore clients.
They work cross-functionally across Vertafore, including Customer Support, Account Management, Professional Services, Product Development and Product Management to help guide the client.
You will be hands on, involved in designing solutions and flexible services that expose core capabilities to different applications and user bases, and leading teams to achieve the vision through active mentoring, technical decision-making, and facilitating company-wide collaboration.
All of this will be accomplished with cutting edge, lean-agile, software development methodologies.

Core Requirements and Responsibilities:
Essential job functions included but are not limited to the following:
· Lead the architecture, design, development, and deployment of robust enterprise applications using the Microsoft .NET technology stack and front-end technologies.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, QA, DevOps, and project managers to ensure successful project delivery.
· Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to a team of developers, promoting best coding practices and modern software design principles.
· Take ownership of software solutions from concept to delivery, ensuring quality, scalability, and maintainability.
· Review code, troubleshoot application issues, and optimize performance in collaboration with other technical leads and team members.
· Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines ensuring automated testing, code quality checks, and smooth deployment processes.
· Engage in architectural discussions and participate in strategic decision-making regarding system improvements and technological innovations.
· Continuously evaluate and integrate emerging technologies and tools to improve development productivity and product performance.
· Oversee the implementation of secure coding practices and compliance with industry standards.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Proficiency in SOLID Principles, Coding Standards, Design Principles and Design Patterns.
· Deep proficiency in .NET Core, ASP.NET, VB.NET, ASP.NET MVC, and C#.
· Advanced experience in developing Web APIs/REST APIs using modern .NET frameworks.
· Solid understanding and hands-on experience with Entity Framework for data access.
· Proficiency in front-end technologies such as JavaScript, jQuery, and ReactJS.
· Strong understanding of SQL Server, including database design, optimization, indexing, and query performance tuning.
· Experience working with RabbitMQ or similar message brokers for asynchronous processing.
· Ability to write unit tests and integrate testing frameworks into the development lifecycle.
· Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitLab or similar tools.
· Familiarity with SSIS, SSRS, and SignalR is a plus.
· Demonstrated leadership and ability to mentor junior developers.
· Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and debugging skills.
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications:
· Have an intense passion for building software and mentoring their teams
· Are very strong in both design and implementation at an enterprise level
· 10 - 13 years of professional experience in software development, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft technologies.
· Proven experience in a technical leadership or senior development role.
· Hands-on experience delivering scalable, high-performance applications in enterprise environments.
· Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies and working in cross-functional teams.
