<p><p><b>Description :</b><br/><br/>Role Overview :<br/><br/>We are hiring a Storage and Backup Administrator with over 7 years of experience to design, implement, and maintain robust backup and storage infrastructures.
The ideal candidate will be hands-on with backup tools like Cohesity, Avamar, Commvault, and possess strong technical knowledge of storage systems (SAN/NAS), cloud storage, and virtualization technologies.
This is a critical role supporting enterprise data protection, disaster recovery, and storage optimization initiatives across on-premises and cloud environments.<br/><br/><b>Key Responsibilities :</b><br/><br/>- Design, deploy, and manage enterprise backup and recovery solutions using tools such as Cohesity, Avamar, and Commvault.<br/><br/>- Administer and monitor storage systems including SAN, NAS, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage).<br/><br/>- Set up and maintain monitoring and alerting mechanisms using tools like AppDynamics and Splunk to ensure optimal storage and backup performance.<br/><br/>- Perform regular backups, restorations, and conduct disaster recovery tests to validate business continuity plans.<br/><br/>- Monitor backup job status, address failures, and optimize backup schedules and storage usage.<br/><br/>- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to align storage and backup solutions with organizational standards and compliance requirements.<br/><br/>- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to backup failures, storage capacity, latency, or performance degradation.<br/><br/>- Participate in capacity planning, upgrades, patching, and performance tuning of backup and storage systems.<br/><br/>- Document operational procedures, system configurations, and recovery plans.<br/><br/><b>Required Skills & Experience :</b><br/><br/>- 7+ years of hands-on experience in backup and storage administration in medium to large enterprise environments.<br/><br/>- In-depth experience with backup tools : Cohesity, Avamar, Commvault.<br/><br/>- Strong knowledge of storage technologies including NetApp, HPE, Qumulo, etc.<br/><br/>- Proficient in virtualization platforms : VMware, Hyper-V.<br/><br/>- Experience with cloud storage platforms like AWS S3 and Azure Blob.<br/><br/>- Good knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash for automation and monitoring.<br/><br/>- Solid understanding of data protection, retention policies, and disaster recovery practices.<br/><br/>- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.<br/><br/>- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.<br/><br/><b>Preferred Qualifications :</b><br/><br/>- Certifications in Cohesity or related storage/backup platforms.<br/><br/>- Familiarity with ITIL processes, incident/change management, and data governance standards.<br/><br/>- Experience with automating storage and backup operations.</p><br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
