<p>Engineering Manager (4-10 yrs)</p><p><br/></p><p>About Us - Tamara is the leading fintech platform in Saudi Arabia and the wider GCC region with a mission to help people make their dreams come true by building the most customer-centric financial super-app on earth.<br/><br/>- The company serves millions of users in KSA, UAE and Kuwait, and partners with leading global and regional brands such as SHEIN, Jarir, noon, Amazon, IKEA, eXtra and Farfetch as well as small and medium businesses.<br/><br/> -Tamara is Saudi's first fintech unicorn and is backed by Sanabil Investments, SNB Capital, Checkout.com, amongst others, operating out of its headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia with other regional and global support offices.<br/><br/> Your Role :</p><p><br/></p><p>- We're seeking an Engineering Manager for our team.<br/><br/>- As an engineering manager, you will be crucial in leading the development and enhancement of our payment solutions with state-of-the-art technology, guaranteeing smooth, scalable, and efficient transaction processing to create unique experiences that only Tamara can offer.<br/><br/>- Drawing on your proficiency in software development and team leadership, you will be responsible for directing the evolution of our secure and robust payment services, to deliver unparalleled and distinctive financial experiences that are uniquely Tamara's.<br/><br/>- With a proven track record of creating advanced backend services and guiding development teams, you are set to lead dynamic groups comprising 10-15 engineers and 2-3 engineering leads, encompassing Backend, Frontend, QA, and collaborating closely with designers, analysts, and product experts.<br/><br/>- Your responsibilities will extend to orchestrating technical solutions, overseeing roadmap progression, fostering team growth, managing stakeholder relationships, and addressing complex problems and ultimately transforming how millions of users engage in shopping, payment, and banking activities.<br/><br/>- You are a driven, determined, curious team player, knowing that collective strength means we all win.<br/><br/>- With a positive outlook, you are solution-oriented-persevering regardless of circumstances, always finding a way through, no matter the challenges.<br/><br/>- You will effectively find a way to work with everyone through empathy and respect.<br/><br/>- You will be driven and comfortable with responding quickly with urgency, with the ability to change course without losing momentum and energy, resulting in great success.<br/><br/>Your Responsibilities :</p><p><br/></p><p>- Leadership: Inspire and motivate a team of 10 engineers from 2 squads.<br/><br/>- Set the direction by aligning the team goals to the company vision and strategy.<br/><br/>- Build a healthy environment of trust and a strong sense of ownership and accountability.<br/><br/>- You work closely together with the Squad Lead and the Product Owner to ensure the team's success.<br/><br/> - People Development: Develop talent by ongoing coaching, mentoring and challenging.<br/><br/>- Make sure your team has the right skill sets to accomplish its goals.<br/><br/>- Give candid feedback frequently.<br/><br/>- Assess and manage performance of team members.<br/><br/>- Play a key role in helping us continue to attract, develop and retain great engineering talent.<br/><br/> - Technical Ownership: Have a high level sense of your team's software architecture.<br/><br/>- Lead technical discovery of future work and guide technical decision making.<br/><br/> -Monitor technical health metrics and ensure the right balance between delivery and technical excellence.<br/><br/>- While the engineering manager does not work "hands on" it is important to be able to guide the team in the technical area together with the Tech Lead.<br/><br/> - Project Management: Experienced with Agile methodology and Scrum/Kanban frameworks.<br/><br/>- Help the team to break down complex topics into smaller, manageable tasks in collaboration with Product and UX.<br/><br/>- Manage internal and external stakeholders' expectations, communicate relevant information in a timely manner.<br/><br/>- Coordinate work with team-external dependencies.<br/><br/>- Identify, manage and communicate risks.<br/><br/>- Own the project management process of the team, but leave room for people to grow.<br/><br/> - Team Performance: Deliver on commitments.<br/><br/>- Ensure alignment of the team's objectives with the higher level organizational goals.<br/><br/>- Measure performance indicators and continuously improve effectiveness of your team.<br/><br/> - Team Building: Ensure the right sense of belonging, install a collaboration- and knowledge sharing culture, thereby also manage your team's budget which is provided to achieve these.<br/><br/> - Collaborate with Peers: work closely together and align with other Engineering Managers, architecture board, as well as with the Head of Engineering.<br/><br/> Your Expertise :</p><p><br/></p><p>- You have at least 2-4 years of experience managing one or more engineering teams of more than 10 people (Lead/Engineering Manager role).<br/><br/> -
