Responsibilities:
- System Administration & Operations: Manage and maintain Unix/Linux operating systems, ensuring smooth operations, high availability, and optimal performance of servers and related infrastructure.
- Analysis & Planning: Conduct detailed analysis for system requirements, plan capacity, and design solutions within the Unix Administration domain to meet business needs.
- Development & Scripting: Develop and implement automation scripts (e.g., Shell, Python, Perl) to streamline administrative tasks, improve efficiency, and reduce manual effort.
- Implementation & Configuration: Lead the implementation, configuration, and setup of new Unix/Linux servers, services, and applications, ensuring adherence to security policies and best practices.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide expert-level troubleshooting and timely resolution of complex Unix/Linux-related issues, including system performance, connectivity, and application problems.
- Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain system security best practices, manage user access, conduct vulnerability assessments, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Patch Management & Upgrades: Plan and execute operating system patching, updates, and upgrades to maintain system security and stability.
- Backup & Recovery: Design, implement, and manage robust backup and recovery strategies for Unix/Linux systems, ensuring data integrity and business continuity.
- Operational Contribution: Actively contribute to the operational efficiency and effectiveness of IT infrastructure, including monitoring, logging, and alert management.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with application teams, network administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and support for various IT services.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux Administration.
- Ability to perform analysis, development (scripting), implementation, and troubleshooting within the Unix Administration domain.
- Strong understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems, file systems, networking, and system services.
- Familiarity with shell scripting (Bash, Ksh) and/or other scripting languages (Python, Perl).
- Problem-solving skills for complex technical challenges.
- Ability to ensure smooth operations and contribute to business objectives.
