Teamware Solutions is seeking a proficient Unix/Linux Administrator with a strong foundation in Red Hat Linux to manage and maintain our server infrastructure.
You'll be crucial in ensuring the stability, security, and optimal performance of our Linux-based systems, supporting critical applications and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform essential Unix/Linux administration tasks, including system installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting.
- Manage user accounts, file systems, permissions, and disk space efficiently.
- Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and ensure high availability of servers.
- Implement and manage basic networking configurations, including firewall rules and routing.
- Conduct regular system backups and assist in disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Write and maintain shell scripts for automation of routine administrative tasks.
- Troubleshoot system-level issues, analyze logs, and resolve errors promptly.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to support application deployments and infrastructure changes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Unix/Linux Administrator or in a similar system support role.
Skills Required:
- Strong understanding of Unix/Linux basics and core commands (e.g., file system navigation, process management, user administration, networking commands).
- Hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration, including installation, configuration, and package management (RPM, YUM/DNF).
- Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, KornShell) for automation and task execution.
- Solid grasp of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) within a Linux environment.
- Experience with system monitoring tools and log analysis.
- Basic understanding of Linux security concepts (e.g., SELinux, firewalld).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills for operating system issues.
Preferred Skills:
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM).
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and Linux instances therein
