<p><p><b>About the Role :</b><br/><br/>We are seeking an experienced and passionate Database Engineer to join our technology team.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL development, PostgreSQL administration, and Python scripting to support data-intensive applications.
The role requires designing and optimizing databases, building data pipelines, and ensuring seamless migration of customer data into new product hosted on AWS cloud.<br/><br/><b>Key Responsibilities :</b><br/><br/>- Design, implement, and optimize PostgreSQL databases for scalability, security, and performance.<br/><br/></p><p>- Develop and maintain complex SQL queries, procedures, views, and triggers to support application requirements.<br/><br/></p><p>- Write Python or sql scripts for database automation, ETL processes, and data validation.<br/><br/></p><p>- Collaborate with product, engineering, and DevOps teams to define database strategies and data models.<br/><br/></p><p>- Support data migration activities, including mapping, transformation, and validation of legacy data to new portals/products.<br/><br/></p><p>- Ensure high availability, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery strategies for database environments.<br/><br/></p><p>- Monitor and tune performance using database metrics, indexing strategies, and query optimization.<br/><br/></p><p>- Deploy and manage databases in AWS environments (postgres, S3, etc.).<br/><br/></p><p>- Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory standards in handling sensitive data.<br/><br/><b>Required Qualifications :</b><br/><br/>- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.<br/><br/></p><p>- 3 to 5 years of professional experience as a Database Strong knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL preferred) with proven ability to optimize queries and schema design.<br/><br/></p><p>- Hands-on experience with Python for database scripting and automation.<br/><br/></p><p>- Good understanding of data modeling, normalization, and relational database design principles.<br/><br/></p><p>- Experience in performance tuning (indexes, partitions, query optimization).<br/><br/></p><p>- Exposure to AWS database services (RDS for PostgreSQL, EC2, S3, IAM, and VPC.).<br/><br/><b>Nice to Have :</b><br/><br/>- Experience in data migration projects, especially migrating existing customers to new portals/products.<br/><br/></p><p>- Familiarity with ETL tools and frameworks (e.g., Airflow, AWS Glue, dbt).<br/><br/></p><p>- Understanding of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB) as a complement to relational systems.<br/><br/></p><p>- Knowledge of DevOps practices for CI/CD integration of database changes.<br/><br/></p><p>- Experience with database monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.<br/></p><br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
