<p><p><b>Description : </b></p><p><b><br/></b></p><br/><p>We are looking for a passionate Backend Software Engineer to join the Fulfilment Optimisation team.
This team builds the platforms that determine how customer orders are fulfilled, optimising for Wayfair's profitability and customer delight.
</p><p><br/></p><p>A big part of our work revolves around enhancing and scaling customer-facing platforms that provide fulfilment information on our websites, starting at the top of the customer funnel on the search pages, all the way through orders being delivered.
</p><p><br/></p><p>Throughout this customer journey, we are responsible for maintaining an accurate representation of our dynamic supply chain, determining how different products will fit into boxes, predicting how these boxes will flow through warehouses and trucks, and ultimately surfacing the information our customers need to inform their decision and the details our suppliers and carriers require to successfully execute on the promises made to our customers.
We do all of this in milliseconds, thousands of times per : </b></p><p><b><br/></b></p><br/><p>- Partner with your business stakeholders to provide them with transparency, data, and resources to make informed decisions.</p><br/><br/><p>- Be a technical leader within and across the teams you work with.</p><br/><br/><p>- Drive high-impact architectural decisions and hands-on development, including inception, design, execution, and delivery following good design and coding practices.</p><br/><br/><p>- Obsessively focus on production readiness for the team, including testing, monitoring, deployment, documentation and proactive troubleshooting.</p><br/><br/><p>- Identify risks and gaps in technical approaches and propose solutions to meet team and project goals.</p><br/><br/><p>- Create proposals and action plans to garner support across the organisation.</p><br/><br/><p>- Influence and contribute to the team's strategy and roadmap.</p><br/><br/><p>- Tenacity for learning - curious, and constantly pushing the boundary of what is : </b></p><p><b><br/></b></p><br/><p>- 6 to 9 years of experience in backend software engineering, architecting and implementing robust, distributed web applications.</p><br/><br/><p>- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.</p><br/><br/><p>- Track record of technical leadership for teams following software development best practices (e.
g.
SOLID, TDD, GRASP, YAGNI, etc).</p><br/><br/><p>- Track record of being a hands-on developer efficiently building technically sound systems.</p><br/><br/><p>- Experience building web services with Java and springboot.</p><br/><br/><p>- Experience with Continuous Integration (CI/CD) practices and tools (Buildkite, Jenkins, etc.
).</p><br/><br/><p>- Experience architecting solutions leveraging distributed infrastructure (e.
