<p><p><b>Position :</b> WebSphere Application Server Administrator<br/><br/><b>Experience :</b> 5-7 years<br/><br/><b>Relevant Experience :</b> 4-5 years<br/><br/><b>Job Type :</b> Full-time<br/><br/><b>Job Summary :</b><br/><br/>We are seeking a skilled and experienced WebSphere Application Server Administrator with 57 years of experience in managing enterprise-level application environments.
The ideal candidate will be a technical expert with a strong focus on administration, configuration, and performance tuning for application servers like WebLogic and WildFly/JBoss.
This role requires deep expertise in Java/J2EE middleware, robust scripting skills for automation, and a solid understanding of networking and security to ensure the reliability and scalability of our applications.<br/><br/><b>Key Responsibilities :</b><br/><br/><b>Application Server Management :</b> Take full ownership of the end-to-end lifecycle of application servers, including WebLogic and WildFly/JBoss.
This includes installation, configuration, clustering for high availability, application deployments, and proactive performance tuning to meet service level agreements (SLAs).<br/><br/><b>Java/J2EE Middleware Expertise :</b> Apply in-depth knowledge of Java/J2EE middleware components such as EJBs and JMS.
You must be proficient in troubleshooting and managing the complexities introduced by Java runtime versions 8 through 17, including serialization impacts.<br/><br/><b>Messaging System Administration :</b> Configure, tune, and troubleshoot enterprise messaging systems like JMS and ActiveMQ, ensuring reliable and asynchronous communication between applications.<br/><br/><b>Automation & Scripting :</b> Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell/Unix scripting and configuration management tools like Ansible and Puppet to streamline environment provisioning and management tasks.<br/><br/><b>Networking & Security :</b> Administer and configure critical networking and security components.
This includes managing SSL/TLS certificate lifecycles, configuring load balancers, and setting up firewall and proxy rules.<br/><br/><b>Database Integration :</b> Configure and manage database integrations with application servers, including setting up JNDI datasources and optimizing connection pooling.<br/><br/><b>Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting :</b> Proactively monitor server performance using tools to analyze server logs, thread dumps, and heap dumps.
You will be responsible for identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and stability issues.<br/><br/><b>Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) :</b> Manage build and deployment tools, including Maven/Ant, Jenkins, and GitHub.
Experience with pipeline automation is a plus.<br/><br/><b>OS & Infrastructure Management :</b> Provide administration support for Linux/Unix operating systems in on-premises environments.<br/><br/><b>Required Skills & Qualifications :</b><br/><br/>- 5-7 years of professional experience with a minimum of 4-5 years of relevant experience as an application server administrator.<br/></p><p><br/></p><p>- Strong, hands-on experience with WebLogic and WildFly/JBoss application servers.<br/></p><p><br/></p><p>- In-depth knowledge of Java/J2EE middleware, EJBs, JMS, and an understanding of the evolution of Java runtime versions 817.<br/></p><p><br/></p><p>- Proven experience with messaging systems such as JMS and ActiveMQ.<br/></p><p><br/></p><p>- Strong proficiency in scripting and automation using Shell/Unix scripting and tools like Ansible or Puppet.<br/></p><p><br/></p><p>- Expertise in networking and security configuration, including SSL/TLS certificate management and load balancing.<br/></p><p><br/></p><p>- Solid Linux/Unix OS administration skills.<br/></p><p><br/></p><p>- Experience with database integration on application servers.<br/></p><p><br/></p><p>- A strong ability to monitor and troubleshoot application server health and performance.</p><br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
